2020/21 Winter Lacrosse Program

This year we are celebrating the tenth year of our camp. Over the past decade we have had the opportunity to work with so many awesome young lacrosse players and grow this camp. This year we are moving our location to Beaumont’s new indoor turf facility. We are excited about this move to Beaumont and continuing to grow the sport of box lacrosse.

The North Strong Lacrosse name represents the extraordinary lacrosse that is being played in Canada and specifically Alberta. The players from this region are powerful, talented and determined. Our focus at the camp remains the same. We will continue to focus on developing the stick skills and knowledge required to excel in the game of box lacrosse. Speed and skill on the floor leads to fun for all the players. Our goalies are given extra attention to work on the finer points of the game and to be the defensive leaders of the team.

The North Strong Lacrosse Winter Program is now open to accept registrations.

As we head into our tenth year, many of the young players we worked with a decade ago are now playing college lacrosse in the US and Canada, in both men’s and women’s field lacrosse. Others are playing in Junior A and B leagues in the province and there are still more playing for Team Alberta box and field teams. It is exciting to see our Winter Program players making an impact in lacrosse across North America.

This year’s sessions will run from late October until the early part of March at the Beaumont Sport and Recreation Centre located on 5001 Rue Eaglemont in Beaumont, Alberta.

NORTH STRONG STAFF

North Strong Lacrosse is owned by Paul Rai, who was the founder of Vimy Lacrosse, a school academy program now in its 15th year of operation and boasting over 80 student-athletes. Paul has 20 years of lacrosse coaching experience working with players from Mini Tyke to Senior Mens. He has led box and field teams to numerous tournaments across North America and has won a Presidents Cup Senior Championship as a player and coach.

Paul is involved with the day to day operations of the camp and brings in support staff that understand the game of box lacrosse. All the coaches are trained by Paul Rai and include goalie instruction led by Zach Yopek-Stabel. Zach will be returning as our Head Goalie Coach. Zach is a Vimy Lacrosse alum and played his minor lacrosse for the Edmonton Warriors Lacrosse Club. Zach just finished his Junior A career and played at the 2018 Minto Cup for the Calgary Mounties.
