2023/24 North Strong Lacrosse Winter Program

The North Strong Winter Lacrosse Camp is ready to launch again. As the days grow shorter, we're gearing up to elevate your lacrosse game to new heights. Our camp is not just a place to beat the winter blues; it's a place where aspiring lacrosse athletes come together to hone their skills, build camaraderie, and embrace the sport of lacrosse. Whether you're a seasoned player looking to fine-tune your techniques or a beginner eager to learn the ropes of this exhilarating sport, our dedicated coaching staff is here to guide you on your journey to becoming a lacrosse superstar. Get ready to gear up, grab your sticks, and embark on a lacrosse adventure!

For 12 years we have had the opportunity to work with so many awesome young lacrosse players and grow this camp. The entire camp will be run at the Turf Training Center 4, located at 1030 34th Avenue in Nisku, Alberta. This is an indoor turf facility without boards. Please do not worry about not having boards. The facility will be fully netted and there will be box nets and creases for us to work with. Our entire focus is on developing skills in passing, catching, shooting and cradling. Our box goalies will still receive the training they require to develop their ball stopping skills. The facility will be perfect for us to work with players to improve their skills and become better overall lacrosse players.

Learning lacrosse skills is of paramount importance as it serves as the foundation for the growth and development of both individual players and the sport as a whole. By learning the basic skills such as stick handling, passing, shooting, and defensive maneuvers, athletes can excel on the field, enhancing their confidence and performance. Additionally, through structured coaching, players not only acquire these physical skills but also develop a deep understanding of game strategies and team play.

As we head into our twelfth year, many of the young players we worked with a decade ago are now playing college lacrosse in the US and Canada, in both men’s and women’s field lacrosse. Others are playing in Junior A and B leagues in the province and there are still more playing for Team Alberta box and field teams. Some of our former players are even coaching and paying forward their knowledge to young players. It is exciting to see our Winter Program players making an impact in lacrosse across North America.
